Accreditation
There are two attitudes that I have seen administrators take to accreditation - it is an imposition from an outside agency trying to dictate policy and practices, or it is a quality improvement process developed by our peers to strengthen our institutions. I am a strong believer that it is the latter and have engaged extensively in the process as evidenced by the experiences listed below. I have extensive experience with university wide accreditors including the Higher Learning Commission, Middle States, and SACSCOC. In addition:

While Provost at Radford the following programs received successful reaccreditation – Chemistry (ACS), Occupational Therapy (ACOTE) and Business (AACSB). I have extensive experience participating in the program specific exit interview process by teams from AACSB, CAEP, ACS, ACOTE, CAPTE, ABET and others.
Led the 2014 decennial self-study for Mercy College, co-chaired the learning assessment workgroup, and chaired the steering committee.
Served as a member of the Middle States accreditation site teams on visits to Trinity Washington University in 2016, and to the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2012.
Served as the Accreditation Liaison Officer for Mercy College.
Served on numerous accreditation self study committees at Stony Brook and met with the site visit teams for business, engineering, education and institutional accreditation. I participated in writing sections of the 5 year interim Middle States accreditation report for Stony Brook.
When implementing the World's first online school of pharmacy I worked with the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education to ensure the program would remain accredited. ACPE sent teams twice a year for the first three years to monitor the development of this groundbreaking program.
